PREVIEW

Royal Challengers Bangalore meet Somerset later today at home in a game that would edge the English side a step closer to semi-final qualification should they secure the victory. A triumph for the hosts would keep them in the running to progress with just one more game to play in the group.

The main concern for Bangalore is their below par batting performances in the tournament. Armed with the likes of Chris Gayle and Tillakaratne Dilshan, one would expect the side to get off to a flier during the first power play.

However, that has not proved the case thus far and that has greatly increased the pressure on the middle order to chip in with runs. AB De Villiers’ injury has hampered Bangalore further and he would have certainly helped steady the batting line-up.

For Somerset, captain Alvaro Thomas has lead the side magnificently and his bowling has been key. The skipper has been ably supported by Steve Kirby and the pair will need to be at their best again here. Craig Keiswetter’s arrival has given the batsmen a lift and his ability to score quickly is a major asset at this level of the game. A Somerset win can currently be backed at around 2.36 on BETDAQ.

Although the Sabres are not favourites, if they can keep Gayle and co in check they are worth backing to get the win.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
