PREVIEW

Newcastle United head off to the Britannia Stadium this evening as one of only two remaining clubs boasting of an unbeaten record in the Premier League. Alan Pardew has done a magnificent job at the Magpies and his side have the best defensive record in the league – having only conceded six times since August.

Stoke though will be confident of getting something from the game given that they have already held both Chelsea and Manchester United at home. The Potters are currently in mid-table having won three, drawn three and lost three of their matches this term. Tony Pulis’ side are always tough to beat and especially on their own turf.

The hosts have been struggling for goals in recent weeks, managing just seven in their nine fixtures. Against a side that has been so strong at the back, Pulis will need his forwards to be on top of their game if they are to snatch the win.

Stoke won both Premier League games against Newcastle last season, beating the Magpies 4-0 at the Britannia. Newcastle held both Arsenal and Spurs to a draw and this one looks likely to be heading the same way. I expect both managers would settle for a share of the points and punters can currently get around 3.4 on BETDAQ for the sides to be level at the final whistle.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Back the draw at around 3.4: 5 points
Sunday’s Return: +5.25 points
