PREVIEW
Dunfermline make their return to the Scottish top flight this evening as St Mirren head to East End Park. There should be a fantastic atmosphere at the ground given the club last graced the Scottish Premier League at the end of 2006/07 campaign.

Manager Jim McIntyre will be well aware of the challenge that lies ahead this year and knows the importance of picking up results on their own turf. The Pars stormed to the Division One title last year and were excellent at home. Over the season, Dunfermline lost just once at home and six matches in total. The hosts finished last year strongly and head into tonight’s clash having won six games on the bounce.

The last time St Mirren visited East End Park they were knocked out of the League Cup with a 2-0 defeat. That 2008 cup tie was the fourth game that the Pars have not conceded a goal against their next opponents.

St Mirren finished second from bottom in the 2010/11 SPL and lost 12 of their 19 road games. The newly-promoted side will fancy their chances of kicking-off with a vital three points. An earlier than usual start to the season might mean that the side are not quite up to full fitness, but they should have enough in the locker to get through the 90 minutes.

A home win is trading at around 2.35 on Betdaq and the hosts look a good bet to pick up their third successive victory against St Mirren.
