PREVIEW

Bolton might not have far to go when they travel to Liverpool for Saturday’s early evening kick-off, but their journey down the M62 looks certain to be a wasted one.

However you look at it, it is almost impossible to make a case for the visitors. Most tellingly, they have lost every one of their last nine encounters against the Reds.

Wanderers’ last win at Anfield was in December 2003 when a 90th minute Youri Djorkaeff penalty saw Bolton beat a Liverpool second string in the Carling Cup. What about their most recent league win? Well, that earned them two points back in January 1954 in a season which later saw the Reds finish bottom of the league.

The away team can take some encouragement from their Premier League performances so far this term, but Kenny Dalglish’s men will be the more buoyant after they beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates last time out, while Bolton were undone by Manchester City’s millionaires.

The home team are trading at around 1.44 on BETDAQ, so it might prove more profitable to back them to win by the half-time/full-time double result at 2.17 instead.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Liverpool-Liverpool HT/FT double result at around 2.17: 4 points
Friday’s Return: -4 points
