PREVIEW

This is the second meeting between the Manchester sides in the capital in just under four months and it’s fairly safe to assume that such matches on neutral territory are only going to become more frequent thanks to Manchester City muscling their way into the big boys’ club.

City won the last encounter, the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, thanks to a second-half strike from Yaya Toure which earned Roberto Mancini’s men a 1-0 victory and they will be looking to make their mark again.

The winners of this game will strike an early blow in the title race and Man United are the pre-match favourites on Betdaq at around 2.39, with City available at 3.35.

However, the Community Shield has tended not to be settled in 90 minutes over recent years. Three of the last four have gone to penalties and the draw makes good appeal at 3.4 on the Daq.

Anticipating the stalemate it might be worth a punt in the correct score market instead. With all the attacking riches on show it’s hard to imagine a goalless affair so back 1-1 at around 7.4.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Man United 1-1 Man City at around 7.4: 2 points
Saturday’s Return: +6.10
