PREVIEW

It’s easy to get carried away with both teams’ chances this season after big opening day wins, but Manchester City’s 4-0 spanking of Swansea tells us far more about their chances than Bolton’s victory by the same margin at Loftus Road.

Tony Fernandes’ takeover at QPR is going to improve their survival chances and that will be a huge relief to Neil Warnock as his teamsheet last weekend against Wanderers had Championship written all over it.

Swansea didn’t exactly give City a lot of bother, but they kept it level until half time and then the hosts walked away with it in the second period as their class told. The introduction of Sergio Aguero gave Roberto Mancini’s outfit a significant shot in the arm after their Wembley defeat to Manchester United and suddenly all is rosy once more in the Etihad Stadium garden.

Diego Maradona’s son-in-law couldn’t have asked for a better start to life in the Premier League and the attacking options open to Mancini will be giving opposition managers plenty to ponder.

No matter who the Italian selects, City should have too much in the locker for Bolton. They left the Reebok with a 2-0 win at the end of last term and should be backed to take another three points at 1.84. A repeat of last season’s scoreline is available at a tempting 9.4 on the Daq.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Man City at around 1.84: 6 points
Saturday’s Return: -3.00
