PREVIEW
England begin a five match ODI series against India in Deccan tomorrow and the hosts will be desperate for revenge after their incredibly disappointing summer tour. The Three Lions claimed the ODI series a few weeks ago 3-0, although the weather came to the rescue on more than one occasion.

Duncan Fletcher’s side were down to the bare bones in England and he is still missing some key players in Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh. Gautum Gambhir should make the starting XI, which will help the batters, although the key strike bowlers are still out of action.

England are also missing a few important men with James Anderson and Stuart Broad both absent from the tour group. Those that fancy England to start with a win can get around 2.13 on BETDAQ.

The Three Lions last met India on their own turf back at the World Cup in February and it finished in a thrilling tie. However, that was the first time England have avoided defeat in the 50-over format on Indian soil since 2006. England were hammered 5-0 in 2008 and then 6-1 two years before that, while they have never won at this ground.

Preparations have gone well for England as they have won both their warm-up matches, but with Anderson and Broad missing – they face an uphill task. England’s decision to use some youngsters means they are relatively inexperienced in some areas and Indian conditions are very trying. I expect plenty of runs, but for India to start with a win.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Back India to win at around 1.86: 4 points
