PREVIEW

Tottenham Hotspur will look to get their first win of the group stage in the Europa League tonight in a home fixture against Ireland’s Shamrock Rovers. Spurs could only manage a goalless draw in their away game with PAOK Salonika a fortnight ago.

Harry Redknapp’s side made a good start to the competition with a 5-0 win over Hearts during the Europa League qualification stage. With a huge North London derby on Sunday, the manager may choose to rest his key players in tonight’s fixture. A similar young squad to that of the Salonika game is likely to be given another run out this evening.

The hosts are still favourites to win tonight in their first ever game against the Rovers and they can be backed at around 1.16 on BETDAQ for the victory.

Airtricity Premier League holders, Shamrock Rovers, are currently set to retain their title in a season that ends in December. With an early exit from the Champions League, manager Michael O’Neill will be able to put all his resources into the Europa competition once their domestic campaign is over.

Rovers lost their first group game to FC Rubin Kazan who beat O’Neill’s men 3-0 in Dublin, sending the Russian side to the top of Group A.  They face a mammoth task if they are to beat Spurs at The Lane tonight and an away win is available at around 24.0 on BETDAQ.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
