14 Jul 2011 Europa League qualifying Crusaders 1-3 Fulham

PREVIEW

Crusaders gave a good account of themselves in the first leg against Fulham, but ultimately lost 3-1 after two quick-fire goals in the second half. Martin Jol will have been worried that his side were being held 1-1 until Bobby Zamora’s strike – punters could have got as much 20.0 before kick-off for an unlikely victory.

With a healthy 3-1 lead, Jol will look to rotate some of his side given that the Premier League season is drawing ever nearer. After the Cottagers trounced NSI Runavik 3-0 in the first leg of the last round, the side went on to play out a drab goalless draw knowing the tie was wrapped up.

Manager Stephen Baxter will have been pleased with his side’s efforts in Belfast, but he knows he is up against it given Fulham’s three away goals. For much of the game the sides were level and a lack of concentration cost them dear in the end. Any punters that fancy an upset at Craven Cottage can back the Northern Irish club at 78.0 on Betdaq.

However an upset looks unlikely, even if Jol does decide to ring the changes. Fulham are currently available at 1.06, which is far too short. To gain a little better value it makes sense to back the Cottagers to score over 3.5 goals at around 1.75.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back over 3.5 goals at around 1.75: 4 points
