PREVIEW

If the first meeting between Paraguay and Venezuela in this year’s competition is anything to go by, then football fans are in for a treat when the nations go head-to-head for a place in the Copa America final.

There were six goals scored in the last contest and two of those arrived in the dying seconds to level things up. Venezuela looked as if they were dead and buried with time running out, before Miku and Grenddy Perozo scored to snatch an unlikely point.

Interestingly, Paraguay have drawn all their matches en route to the semis and were on the back foot against Brazil for the majority of the clash. Paraguay have relied on a strong defence and then taking their chances as and when they arrive.

Having beaten Chile 2-1 in the quarter-finals, Venezuela secured a place in the last four for the first time in their history with goals from Oswaldo Vizcarrondo and Gabriel Cichero. Venezuela successfully kept Barcelona target Alexis Sanchez quiet last time out and they won’t go down without a fight here.

La Vinotinto have done fantastically well to reach the last four, but their run looks to be coming to an end. Paraguay will have taken a huge amount of confidence after knocking out the Copa America holders and at around 2.12 on the ‘Daq’ – I would back the favourites to prevail.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Paraguay at around 2.12: 5 points

Monday’s Return: NO BET
