PREVIEW

Championship side Brighton and Hove Albion will face Liverpool tonight for the first time in over 10 years.

Brighton manager and former Tottenham player, Gus Poyet will be hopeful of reaching the fourth round of the Carling Cup after seeing the Reds being beaten 4-0 at White Hart Lane over the weekend.

The Seagulls will also be boosted by the fact that they remain undefeated at home this season and have only conceded once in their last four games. They will certainly aim to hand their Premier League opponents with a third consecutive defeat.

Kenny Dalglish will be looking for a positive response after their loss to Spurs and will be optimistic of calling upon Steven Gerrard for the first time this season. Punters can get 1.66 on BETDAQ for Liverpool to progress into the next stage of the competition.

The Reds entered the third draw after an away victory against League One side Exeter, when Luis Suarez, Maxi Rodriguez and Andy Carroll contributed to the 3-1 scoreline. In the Premier League, however, Liverpool’s lackluster start to the season has seen them win only two of their five games.

Tonight’s fixture will be played at the Amex Stadium, which means Albion have played all their Carling Cup fixtures at home this season, previously beating both Southampton and Gillingham 1-0. But Brighton look likely to need more than home advantage to knock Liverpool out of the cup. The Championship team can be backed at around 5.3 on BETDAQ.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
