PREVIEW

Celtic have their final pre-season outing against Cardiff before the Scottish Premier League kicks-off at the weekend. Neil Lennon will have one final chance to push his side closer to competitive match fitness and get all his squad together before a trip to Hibernian.

Neil Lennon will have been happy with the Australian tour after a slow start. There were signs of expected rustiness in the 1-0 defeat to the Central Coast Mariners, but the side improved dramatically for the final two fixtures.  Two clean sheets will have also been a welcome bonus for Lennon.

It’s all change at Cardiff with Malky Mackay taking over the reins at the club this season. After another agonising campaign last year for the Bluebirds, the former Watford man will be looking for a fast start. The pre-season tour in Seville started well with a 1-0 win against Charlton, but the side can expect a tougher test against the SPL runners-up.

Celtic, trading at around 2.44 on the ‘Daq’, will no doubt have half an eye on the weekend fixture and will be careful about picking up any unnecessary injuries. While Mackay’s side will still be some way short of full fitness, but with home advantage I can see them picking up a draw.

Punters can get around 3.45 for the honours to be shared and that looks the best bet for this game.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back the draw at around 3.45: 4 points
