MATCH POINT: Our tennis tipping column is 49 points up since it started. The next bet comes on Friday morning in the third round clash between defending champion Naomi Osaka and teenage sensation Cori Gauff.

Not the brightest of starts to the Women’s tournament with two of the three bets in the portfolio crashing out. Aryna Sabalenka was a first round casualty and then we were dealt a further blow with Dayana Yastremska beaten by Caroline Wozniacki in the second round 🙁

Thankfully better news with the main bet Karolina Pliskova who has shortened to around 8.6 on BETDAQ (from 11.0) after winning her first two rounds in straight sets and she will face Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the third round on Saturday.

Defending champion Naomi Osaka should get past Cori Gauff in her third round game on Friday morning scheduled, our time, for 8.15am. Don’t forget it’s 0% COMMISSION ON BETDAQ for all tennis markets

For the second Grand Slam in a row the pair meet in the third round and in New York last year it was plain sailing for Osaka who beat the talented youngster 6-3 6-0.

Gauff said: “I think I’ll be less nervous this time. I think U.S. Open, I was nervous. It was my first time on Ashe. We’re both familiar with each other’s games. She plays really aggressive. This time coming in I’m going to be more aggressive.”

The US Open scoreline rather flattered Osaka and with Gauff improving all the time a closer encounter looks very much on the cards but I’ll be surprised if the number three seed can’t win in straight sets.
