MATCH POINT: Our tennis tipping column previews Saturday’s Women’s Final between Jennifer Brady v Naomi Osaka in the Australian Open with recommended BETDAQ bets.

A terrific weekend of sport gets underway at breakfast time on Saturday with the final of the Women’s Australian Open and its an intriguing battle in prospect too between Jennifer Brady and Naomi Osaka.

Having recommended Brady pre-tournament at 21.0 on BETDAQ it’s clear where my allegiances lie but there’s little doubting she will need a career best performance to lift the title at the expense of the 2019 Champion Osaka who understandably is the heavy favourite on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

Osaka has won three Grand Slam titles, has never lost in a final and this match will be a repeat of when the pair met in the semi-final at New York last year which was an absolute thriller – Osaka running out the 7-6 (7-1) 3-6 6-3 winner.

The head to head record (2-1 to Osaka) should give Brady hope and she has really impressed in the tournament so far, only dropping sets in the quarter-final (against Pegula) and semi-final (against the in-form Muchova).

Brady said ahead of the final: “I don’t know how I’m going to feel. I can say I can enjoy the moment and just try to play tennis and not really think too much about it. But there are going to be moments where I’m going to be thinking ‘wow, this could be my first Grand Slam title’.”

Osaka is on a 20-match winning streak. She said: “I feel like experience is important because you can draw on the things you didn’t think you did well in the past and memories. But at the same time, I acknowledge that not having experience is also good because I didn’t have experience when I won my first Slam. There’s a certain hard-headedness that comes with not winning a Slam before. There are two sides to every story.”

Osaka’s path to the final is pretty faultless barring one set dropped against Muguruza and she comprehensively beat Serena Williams 6-3 6-4 in the semi-finals.

A Brady win would be the jackpot for the ante-post recommendations but I’ve got to look at this as a match in its own right.

I’m hoping it will be as competitive as last time they met so will take Osaka to win 2-1 at around 4.0 on BETDAQ. This will cover the ante-post stakes as ‘insurance’ but (and it’s a big but) we need Brady to be competitive and take a set.

…. don’t forget it’s 0% COMMISSION ON TENNIS INCLUDING THE GRAND SLAMS!
