MATCH POINT: Our tennis tipping column previews Sunday’s Men’s Final between Novak Djokovic v Daniil Medvedev in the Australian Open with recommended BETDAQ bets.

It was a case of so close yet so far with Jennifer Brady in the Women’s Final with her being outclassed by Naomi Osaka and dashing hopes of a BETDAQ 21.0 ante-post strike 🙁

I am hoping it’s not going to be the same case on Sunday with Daniil Medvedev – recommended in the Mens pre-tournament at 5.0 (along with Thiem).

The BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE. market is struggling to find a favourite between Medvedev and Djokovic in the final which gets underway at 8.45am at Melbourne Park.

If anything, Djokovic is nudging favouritism but it’s little more than a coin flip.

Medvedev is part of the new generation and won’t fear the eight-times Australian champion as he has won three of their previous seven encounters and has age on his side – not to mention coming into this on the back of a 20 match unbeaten sequence.

Medvedev said: “He has more experience but more things to lose than me.

“I don’t have a lot of pressure because Novak has never lost here in the final. He has all the pressure to get to Roger and Rafa.

“But I think he’s the favourite because he hasn’t lost here.”

Medvedev has enjoyed an easier run to the final. He only went beyond straight sets in round three when he was taken to five by Filip Krajinovic but won the final set in that match 6-0.

Djokovic has been battling with an injury and has only recorded two straight set wins from his six matches so far. He came perilously close to getting knocked out in the quarter finals by Alexander Zverev.

The Serb said of his rival on Sunday: “He has a big serve. For a tall guy, he moves extremely well. Forehand maybe was his weaker shot, but he has improved that as well. Backhand is as good as it gets.

“He’s so solid. He doesn’t give you much. But he’s not afraid nowadays to attack and get to the net and take it to his opponents.”

As the odds suggest this is finely balanced and five sets looks likely. I’ll play 3-2 scorelines to both players. Djokovic 3-2 is around 6.4 and Medvedev 3-2 is around 7.0. All 0% COMMISSION ON BETDAQ !!
