🇫🇷  MATCH POINT: Our tennis tipping column previews the French Open semi-final on Thursday between Sofia Kenin v Petra Kvitová with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

The second semi-final of the women’s tournament sees Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin take on Petra Kvitová on the Philippe-Chatrier court at Roland Garros.

They are closely seeded – Kenin (4) and Kvitová (7) but the BETDAQ market prefers Kvitová – presumably based on her effortless progress so far through the tournament (yet to drop a set) and the fact she holds a 2-0 career record in their head to heads – including once on clay.

It’s seldom that easy though and it’s a fair bet that the Czech will face a severe test against Kenin who may yet stand in the way of her reaching her first French final.

Without doubt Kenin has had a tougher ride so far. She was taken to three sets in the opening round against Russia’s Liudmila Samsonova and has come from a set down in two of her subsequent matches.

She appeared to raise her game though in her quarter final against her fellow American Danielle Collins with Kenin winning the final set 6-0.

She said after that match: “This is really special, I am super happy and really loving the French crowd here.

“I knew I needed to be aggressive myself and take my chances. I feel I did a great job overall. I am proud of myself.”

It’s a tough call but the nine-year age gap and new found confidence from now Grand Slam winner Kenin may well be enough to halt the progress of Kvitová.

MATCH POINT BETS:
3 points win KENIN TO WIN 2-1 at around 5.5 on BETDAQ SPORTSBOOK
