PREMIER LEAGUE SATURDAY: We preview Saturday’s Premier League games including the televised Watford v Liverpool and Brighton v Man City. Each game includes a recommended BETDAQ bet.

WATFORD V LIVERPOOL

12.30pm The first Saturday of the new Premier League season, and we start with a bang – the 12.30pm Saturday Premier League Kick Off is now 0% commission on BETDAQ! So let’s find a winner to get the extra bit of value on.

This is a difficult start for Liverpool, and they certainly look short at 1.63 in the match odds market. Watford ended last season poorly, however they had nothing to play for and did have a couple of injuries. They have added to their squad well in the summer, and brought in Marco Silva too so you can expect them to be well set up in midfield and at the back. Lallana is ruled out with injury for Liverpool, and it’s hard to know what Klopp will do with Coutinho at the moment given the bids from Barcelona – will Klopp include him? We feel this is a good chance to lay Liverpool, and the 1.63 certainly looks a value lay.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Liverpool at 1.63.

CRYSTAL PALACE V HUDDERSFIELD

3pm It’s always hard to know what to expect from sides in their first game who have came up from the Championship, however Crystal Palace feel short at 1.85 here, and are a tempting lay. They got themselves into big trouble early on last season, before Allardyce and Sakho saved them – the latter was absolutely superb and it remains to be seen how they will perform at the back without him. You usually don’t want to read too much into pre-season games, however Huddersfield have gone OK in their warm-ups against decent sides in the Bundesliga and Serie A. We feel the loss of Sakho will be huge for Palace, and it could take them a while to find a balanced system – so we recommend a small lay of Palace at 1.85.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Crystal Palace at 1.85.

CHELSEA V BURNLEY

3pm The Premier League Champions get their campaign started at home to Burnley, and given how poor Burnley were away from home last season, Chelsea should be banker material for BETDAQ Multiples. However, they haven’t had a good summer in the transfer market, and will be without Costa and Hazard – so maybe they could start slow?

We feel that they should still win, however we don’t fancy it to be by much. No Costa and Hazard has to be a major negative – especially as you couldn’t say that Conte added well to his squad in the summer. They had a wonderful record at home last season, but we feel there is value in the goals market here. Under 2.5 looks simply too big at 2.28, given the players Chelsea are missing and that Burnley are likely to take a negative approach and set up to defend early on.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 2.28.

EVERTON V STOKE CITY

3pm Everton seem to have really had a go at things this summer, they have spent plenty of money and it will be interesting to see how the team gels together starting from today. They had a very good home record last season, but their away form let them down massively and they’ll have to improve that if they want to keep up with the top sides. The home win here seems massive at 1.74 – Stoke have had a poor transfer window, and you can say that based on their business, the squad has gone backwards with the loss of Arnautovic and no real decent signings. Looking at last season, Everton should have plenty in hand to beat Stoke at home, and certainly based on the transfer window, Everton should win here. They will have to gel together quickly, however the 1.73 looks too big to ignore.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Everton to beat Stoke at 1.73.

SOUTHAMPTON V SWANSEA

3pm Another new season, another new manager for Southampton! Both sides seem to be battling to keep their best players – with Van Dijk not playing for Southampton and training alone, and Swansea unsure of keeping Sigurdsson. Southampton should get the job done with home advantage here, but at 1.65 they don’t make any appeal from a value point of view. They really struggled to score goals last season, and with Swansea having trouble scoring and just surviving last season, we see the this game possibly being a very dull affair. Under 2.5 goals is trading 1.85 and that looks the best bet to us.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 1.85.

WEST BROM V BOURNEMOUTH

3pm These sides were well matched last season, finishing in 9th and 10th – and it’s not a surprise to see that this market is the most open of the weekend. The odds at the time of writing currently stand at; West Brom 2.52, Bournemouth 3.3 and the draw is 3.3. West Brom had a pretty good season last year, however you’d have to say that Bournemouth had the better transfer window – and it’ll be very interesting to see how this match goes. The draw is a tempting bet at 3.3, however we feel that this will be a pretty close game and with under 2.5 goals trading 1.8, that looks big enough for us to back.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 1.8.

BRIGHTON V MANCHESTER CITY

5.30pm After seeing the opening day fixtures, many people would have thought Brighton will discover how hard life in the Premier League is early! It’s hard to see anything other than a comfortable Manchester City win here, Brighton just don’t seem to have the class in their squad to live with Pep Guardiola’s men. They had issues at the back last season, but have again spent big in the summer and addressed that issue. Brighton were decent at home in the Championship, however you’d have to say that City are many levels above that, and the 2.0 on City -1.5 goals makes such appeal on BETDAQ.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Manchester City -1.5 goals to beat Brighton at 2.0.
