PREMIER LEAGUE: We preview Monday’s Premier League match between SOUTHAMPTON v BRIGHTON with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

SOUTHAMPTON V BRIGHTON

8pm We have a South Coast clash for Monday Night Football this week as Southampton take on Brighton. After the results at the weekend, both sides sit right beside each other in the Premier League in 13th and 14th with four points apiece. We actually seen the two sides play very recently in the Carabao Cup when Southampton won 1-0; away from home that time.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Southampton 2.06, Brighton 4.4 and the draw is 3.4. Looking at the stats from last season this will be a very interesting game! Southampton has the second worst home record last season while Brighton had the worst away record. Southampton grinded out a solid 2-0 away win against Crystal Palace prior to the International break however they have yet to win at home this season with a 2-1 loss against Leicester and a 0-0 draw with Burnley – who now sit bottom of the Premier League.

If you thought laying Southampton was a good idea because of their home record; it’s very difficult to get past Brighton’s away record! As we noted above, it was the worst in the Premier League last season and they’ve opened this season with two away losses – one of those came against Liverpool though which you can’t read too much into.

We expect a low quality game here with both sides possibly cancelling each other out. On balance you’d have to favour Southampton however they look pretty short at 2.06 considering their poor home record – perhaps Brighton are so bad away from home they can win here but 2.06 only seems for the brave. Under 2.5 goals is an option at 1.69 however we feel the value is with the draw here at 3.4.
