PREMIER LEAGUE SUNDAY: We preview Sunday’s only Premier League game – TOTTENHAM v STOKE at 1.30pm with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

TOTTENHAM V STOKE

1.30pm What a terrible time Spurs are having at the moment. They’ve suffered a poor run of results in the Premier League which has seen them drop to third, and then got dumped out of the Europa League on Thursday night against Gent – after having a mare in the Champions League! They’ll be in need of a confidence boosting win here, however at around 1.44 – they look a bit short to consider backing.

Even though we don’t like the idea of backing Spurs at 1.44, we can’t lay them based on their record at home this season. They have yet to lose from 12 home games in the Premier League, and have won ten of those. Stoke should be well drilled and tough to break down, but ultimately you see Spurs coming out on top in the end.

Stoke have lost four of their last five away from home in the league, however they did have to travel to Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea in that, so we can’t really read much into those results as you wouldn’t expect results there. They are in reasonable form though, holding Manchester United and Everton to draws at home, however they were made to work hard to beat Palace last time out and lost to West Brom in their last away game.

We think it’s wise to avoid the match odds market here looking at the odds, and prefer to stick to the goals market. With Spurs surely low on confidence, and Stoke more than likely coming here to defend at the start of the game anyway – under 2.5 goals look too big at 2.3. We could easily have a cagey start here, and it’s also worth checking what prices 1-0 or 2-0 home win is trading in the correct score market closer to kick off.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 2.3.
