CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL: Once again it’s an all Spanish final on Saturday as we look forward to a repeat of the 2014 final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in the San Siro.

Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid

Champions League Final 7-45 Saturday

This will be the third year in a row that there will be a Spanish winner of the Champions League, and with Sevilla already landing the Europa League it will also mean that 10 of the last 16 Champions League and Europa League winners have come from Spain.

There’s no reason why Atletico won’t be immensely confident going into this tie, their recent record against Real is superb – Atletico have only lost once in 90 minutes against Real in the last 12 meetings, unfortunately for Atletico after the draw in the final in 2014 Real went on to lift the trophy but from a betting point of view you’d definitely want to be against Real at around the 2.6 mark in the 90 minutes market.

The way Atletico set up seems to frustrate Real and if Atletico get the first goal, they can then pick Real off on the break as we’ve seen time and time again over the past few years. Atletico have won seven of the last 16 meetings, including five draws – not the results you want to hear if backing Real at 2.6, and Atletico certainly appear to be value at around 3.3.

You might want to back Atletico draw-no-bet or lay Real though because we could be in for a dull final given how superb both sides have been at the back in the Champions League this year, Real have kept clean sheets in 10 of their 12 games while Atletico have a more impressive long-term record of 15 clean sheets in 21 Champions League games, an incredible stat when you factor in the opposition they’ve faced.

Obviously with the above stats in mind, under 2.5 goals is of interest, and that’s currently sitting at around the 1.6 mark, if it was to get any bigger closer to kick off – it would be worth a bet. 0-0 at FT is also worthy of interest given Atletico’s style and set up, and that’s currently trading around 9.0.

It’s a cliché but it’s highly likely we’ll know what sort of match we are getting after 20 minutes here, if Atletico scored an early goal – you’d have to fancy them to score more and pick Real off on the break, as we have seen in past games between the pair. If it’s a quiet opening 20 minutes then we might see a dull 0-0 and go onto Extra Time to decide the winner.
