PURPLE PATCH: How Fulham’s star striker has propelled his side back into the Premier League

Fulham are top of the Championship table with 87 points this season, which is in no small part due to striker Aleksandar Mitrovic’s outstanding performance.

It is no wonder that Mitrovic was named Championship Player of the Season with the Serb averaging 90 minutes per goal, with 41 goals in 42 games, which is far clear of the second highest, Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke, who has averaged 137 minutes per goal.

Fulham have scored 99 goals in total so far, which means that Mitrovic contributed just over 41% of those. His 41 goals also project him well over the record for the most goals scored in a Championship season, previously set by Ivan Toney with 31.

The strikers impressive and consistent goals have not gone unnoticed, with the 27-year-old winning 14 Man of the Match awards. So far, he has scored three hat-tricks, and will only be looking to increase that statistic in his upcoming fixtures against Luton Town and Sheffield United.

Fulham sealed the deal to move up to the Premier League in their game against Preston on April 19th, where Mitrovic scored two times. He also boasts seven assists this season, which makes him joint 17th this season for assists alongside fellow teammate Fabio Carvalho and two others.
