PURPLE PATCH: The lead at the top of Serie A has changed hands on many occasions this season, but after an impressive run of form, Inter Milan have taken control and their latest Purple Patch looks set to deliver them their first title in 2010.

Everyone is talking about how impressive Manchester City have been this season and while that is certainly true, Inter Milan are doing a pretty fine job in Italy too.

Since the turn of the year, Antonio Conte’s side have been in superb form and look poised to win a 19th Serie A title and first since 2010.

Internazionale are unbeaten in their last 11 matches in the league, winning nine times and drawing on the other two occasions.

They have scored an impressive 23 goals in that time and perhaps even more impressively they’ve conceded just five times.

As such, it’s unsurprising they’ve kept seven clean sheets in their last 11 – a factor that Conte prides his teams on.

Their sterling sequence of form has seen them surge into a commanding nine-point lead at the top of the table and perhaps that will be made even sweeter to the Inter fans by the fact that they have overtaken their bitter rivals AC Milan at the summit.

They aren’t home and hosed yet, but you feel it’s going to take something pretty remarkable for Conte and Co to not be lifting yet another Serie A title in a few months’ time.
