DOUBLE GROUP 2 ACTION: Two Group 2 races at The Curragh this evening with the seven race card underway at 5.10pm.

Cracking racing week across at York but there’s also some excellent home action on Friday at The Curragh with two Group 2 races packed with future clues.

The fillies are up first for the Debutante Stakes at 6.40pm and Aidan O’Brien saddles four of the nine runners including Love who lost her maiden tag at Leopardstown in July before returning to the course last month to win a Group 3 with ease. This will be a little harder but she continues to improve.

Preference though is for the Jessica Harrington trained Alpine Star who finished third to Love on debut but seemed to improve plenty for the run and was impressive when winning next time out at Galway. She is entered up in Group 1 races and is clearly thought to be a decent prospect for the yard.

It’s very hard to get away from Armory in the Galileo Irish EBF Futurity Stakes at 7.10pm.

Aidan O’Brien has won five of the last six runnings of this with some of his very best horses. Armory bids to follow in the hooveprints of the likes of likes of Churchill and Anthony Van Dyck and has done very little wrong to date.

He was impressive when winning the Group 3 Tyros Stakes at Leopardstown last time out by five lengths and can continue the progress tonight.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Alpine Star (6.40 The Curragh)
NEXT BEST: Armory (7.10 The Curragh)
