BONUS LEOPARDSTOWN CARD: There’s a bumper bonus eight-race card at Leopardstown today hastily re-arranged after the recent weather caused carnage.
Well done to Leopardstown for getting their National Hunt Finale meeting rescheduled for today.
The meeting was originally scheduled to take place last Sunday but snow got in the way.
The card starts at 1.25pm and it gives Jezki the perfect opportunity to get back into winning form. At ten, he’s not the force of old and at it was a pretty strong force at that given he won the 2014 Champion Hurdle, but he is favoured by race conditions here and should still have the class to see off his younger rivals.
The nap on the card for me though is Pallasator in the maiden hurdle at 1.55pm. He was a multiple winner (including at Group 2 level) on the flat when trained by Sir Mark Prescott and whilst a beaten favourite at Navan the last day still put in an improved performance from his hurdling debut and could easily show the benefit of experience here.
Jetez has become a little disappointing and danger could be Tara Dylan.
