NAAS BIG RACE CARD: The rearranged Naas card, featuring the Group 3 Gladness Stakes, takes place on Friday afternoon.
Naas goes ahead on slightly improved ground – it’s soft to heavy and soft in places which must be considered progress after the recent deluge !
In the Group 3 Gladness Stakes at 3.15pm there’s a small but competitive field of six runners.
Official ratings would suggest Downforce would have the best chance – he won the Listed Cork Stakes (run at Navan) over five furlongs just six days ago on heavy ground but faces a much tougher task here and is also stopping up in trip.
I prefer the chances of the progressive filly Making Light who seems versatile ground wise and is on for the hat-trick after wins at Leopardstown and last time out here in a Group 3 run over a mile.
