BETDAQ MARKET SAYS IT ALL: It’s 11.5 the field in the Ladbrokes Irish National at Fairyhouse on BETDAQ. Any of around nine horses could still start favourite.

The Ladbrokes Irish Grand National Chase at Fairyhouse this afternoon (field reduced to 29) is as competitive as it gets and the BETDAQ market is struggling to work out a favourite in a race where it’s double figure odds the field.

Only nine completed last year when Lion Na Bearnai sprang a 33/1 surprise and he holds a ticket for next weekend’s Grand National.

It’s so hard to find angles in, and win and place on a bigger priced runner would appear the way to go.

The Gigginstown House Stud mount a five-pronged attack on the race with only different coloured caps to aid the commentator and viewers.

With the yellow cap, I would be hopeful of a good run from Panther Claw. He had a tough race when winning the Novice Handicap Chase Final at Navan but loves the testing conditions and trainer Paul Nolan identified this as his next target immediately after the Navan win.

He likes to race up with the pace which I think will be important in today’s race and is relatively lightly raced.

At around 13.5 on BETDAQ on the win and 4.4 in the place market he looks the bet but not the nap….

The nap is reserved for Wedding Present in the opener at Cork. He was only narrowly beaten by Foxrock on his hurdling debut and can go one better here – he has already shown good ability in bumpers.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Wedding Present (2.00 Cork)
NEXT BEST: Panther Claw (WIN and PLACE) (4.50 Fairyhouse)
