MAN TO BOSS THE BALLINROBE OPENER: SHAMROCK starts the week with a Ballinrobe NAP trading at 5.0 on BETDAQ.

The Ballinrobe card looks tricky tonight but I think the consistent Mr Boss Man is worthy of support in the opening maiden hurdle at 6.00.

Trading at around 5.0 on BETDAQ at the time of writing looks reasonable enough. The seven-year-old won a bumper and run some good races in defeat over hurdles, most notably at Punchestown two starts ago when a half length second in a charity race. He wasn’t beaten far on his hurdling debut at Kibeggan when third over three miles but should be a lot better suited over this significant shorter trip.

The Gordon Elliott trained Utmost Zeal is the market leader but there continues to be a big question mark over his jumping. He has fallen twice from seven starts and made considerable errors in some of his other races. He seemed to struggle to get home over two miles last time on good ground at Tramore and over similar ground tonight is one to take on.

In a poor race, despite the numbers, support for the Tony Martin trained Sarwistan would be interesting. He was tailed off when last seen over hurdles at Down Royal and has since disappointed on the flat too.

The lightly raced Shadagann didn’t fare too badly in a better race at Punchestown last time out and looks best of the remainder.
