‘RED’ WARNING OF A 14.0 SHOCK: Shamrock goes along with the draw at Down Royal and reckons a 14.0 Betdaq offer from a stable in form is a worth an each-way bet. Then he finds a hit in the Ulster Cesarewitch!

Go to Down Royal and draw! That’s many a punter’s motto, as low numbers strongly affect the seven-furlong races. But the claimer and the handicap there today are so low key, it’s hard to find the winner, even with the draw edge.

But Joanna Morgan is in such good form right now, with seven of her last eight runners in the frame, that I’m going for Red Allie (5.50) at 14.0 this morning on Betdaq.

We don’t know much, except that she’s looked promising over a trip and is now dropped back to this seven for her handicap debut. If she’s any good at all, there are no excuses from stall 3.

There are winners drawn low, Pimlico Sound and Elusive Moon, but only winners in their turn, and Just On Fire looks more interesting as another three-year-old with the potential to improve, which he threatened to do at Cork last time out.

With three winners from his last seven starters, maybe John Joseph Murphy with Perhaps Love (4.45) from stall 3 is the answer to the other 7f race, a claimer.

Those in the race with ‘form’, if you can call it that, look a very moderate bunch, so Perhaps Love may be good enough first time out.

Another unraced filly, Sleepytimegirl, could be the danger, despite a wide draw, since her trainer, Kevin Prendergast, is three out of nine on the course in this type of race.

7.20 (Ulster Cesarewitch): Joanna Morgan again. A Hit Is A Hit has struck form at the right time, as a five-lengths Dundalk winner on Polytrack only on Sunday.

Striking Force, just in front of the ‘Hit’ at Tramore in June (Action Master sixth), ran a good second at the Galway Festival, with four from this field well beaten off and he beat another one of today’s runners four days later.

He broke his duck over hurdles in August and at 10.0 this morning is the danger to the favourite, A Hit Is A Hit.
