YOU AIN’T SEEN NOTHING YET! Shamrock celebrates the dominance of Irish racing and Irish horses. There are no home fixtures until Punchestown on Wednesday but he will tip Irish trained and Irish bred horses on the English scene.

It was too easy for us. Punters burn the midnight tungsten, going through the form book, but it was already plain to see: follow the Irish; follow the trainer.

Jim Bolger won the Dewhurst for the fourth time in six years; the Middle Park became Aidan O’Brien’s fourth all told; and yesterday John Oxx landed his eighth Cesarewitch at the Curragh.

And there’s something else notable about these results, as Ger Lyons said after winning the Cheveley Park, ‘Ireland’s getting better and better.’

As the nanny English authorities spend their time revamping the big-race scene, tying the jockey’s arms behind his back, and struggling with a welter burden of mediocre fixtures like an amateur rider trying to jump out of the mud, Ireland does indeed get better. And better.

Dewhurst, Middle Park, Cheveley Park. We’re looking close to a clean sweep of the English two-year-old classics. And we’re not done with by any means.

The one the English like to shout about – nothing to do with their monopoly racing publication, surely – is the Racing Post Trophy, and we have an incredible 12 out of the 28 entries for Doncaster on Saturday October 22, all from Ballydoyle.

Check them out and you’ll see they contain none of our big-hit winners so far. In other words, you ain’t seen nothing yet!
