FAIRYHOUSE: Stage a cracking weekend of racing particularly on Sunday with four graded races to look forward to.

Newcastle got the thumbs up (against the odds) for today’s Fighting Fifth card and there is Irish representation in the big race at 2.20 with the Charles Byrnes’ trained Trifolium. He arrives at the race in good heart and only has two lengths to find with the red hot favourite Cinders And Ashes on Cheltenham Festival Supreme Novices’ Hurdle form where the pair finished first and third. At the respective BETDAQ prices today, Trifolium (5.6) is worth a bet against Cinders And Ashes (1.91) who is back from a break and hasn’t raced since Cheltenham in March. With just the four runners the race could clearly get very tactical.

In the opener at Fairyhouse today Ned Buntline looks a very interesting recruit for the Noel Meade stable. He absolutely bolted home in a flat race at Naas and is held in high regard.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Ned Buntline (12.10 Fairyhouse)
NEXT BEST: Trifolium (2.20 Newcastle)
