IT’S A ‘FREE’ BET AT 19.5: Shamrock fancies the old maestro Arthur Moore to get one on the board at Cheltenham next week. With current naps returns of 11210, but with no Irish racing today, he’s trying to get back on the board with Irish-breds at Exeter.

Weight for it! The Grand Annual, for getting-out stakes, the final race on the final day of Cheltenham, is a punter’s paradise in that you can forget the top-weights and the favourites.

‘Nothing’, as they say, has won it with more than 10st 11lb since way back in 1998 when Edredon Bleu graced the race with his presence and, overall, 19 years in the last 23, the winner has carried less than 11st.

As ever, the age of the winner is getting lower, with horses aged six and seven three out of five. There’s been only one winner of a double-figure age since 1997, and only one favourite.

If it’s stats you’re looking at, Daqman has them all this week, but I’ve pinched this race off him for the one stat: our own Arthur Moore has won it twice and placed once in six attempts.

And I’m taking a bit of 19.5 Free World, second at the Festival when only five and given a run back recently after an absence since the autumn.
