NAAS STARTS GREAT JUMPING WEEKEND: A great weekend of racing gets underway at Naas this afternoon followed by Navan on Sunday.

A great weekend of graded racing in Ireland gets underway today.

In the 2.50 at Naas, Longhouse Poet is taken to make a winning start over hurdles. The five-year-old has already won a point and a bumper at Punchestown and looks a very smart prospect.

Trainer Martin Brassil has booked Davy Russell for his first start over hurdles and the combination can see off a strong challenge which includes Elixir D’Ainay and Column Of Fire from the Mullins / Elliott yards respectively.

Elixir D’Ainay will appreciate the underfoot conditions and looks the biggest threat.

Column Of Fire has some smart bumper form and experience over hurdles but his sole win to date has come on good ground and might find this too testing today.
