PUNTING PUNITA: SHAMROCK’s Saturday NAP runs in the 3.30 at Navan.

Just six runners go to post for the nursery handicap at 3.30 over the five furlong trip at Navan but it looks a very competitive race.

Jessica Harrington (3) and Joseph O’Brien (2) have five of the six between them with only Thomas Mullins breaking the training monopoly with rank outsider Not Now Zeb.

The one with the least experience might be the one to be on in the shape of Punita Arora who shaped well on debut over six furlongs at Naas when runner-up to Cool Vixen and then got off the mark over course and distance here last time out when winning her maiden.

She didn’t enjoy the best of runs that day – taking a hefty bump leaving the stalls but was well on top at the line and quickened up nicely, suggesting there is plenty more to come.

I’m not totally sold on the favourite Chrysalism who was a winner over six furlongs at The Curragh when the ground was soft and conditions couldn’t be much more different here – five furlongs on good to firm ground. Will she have the speed for such a test?
