FOUR GROUP 1’s: We are spoilt for choice at the Curragh this afternoon with four Group 1 races on the star-studded card.

Superb afternoon of racing at the Curragh with four Group 1’s and Classic clues aplenty ahead of next season.

The two-year-old fillies are in action in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at 3.40pm, with the colts going in the National Stakes at 4.15pm.

Jim Bolger halted a sequence of three wins in a row for Aidan O’Brien last year in the National Stakes when Verbal Dexterity came home a comfortable winner but O’Brien launches an all-out assault to get it back with four of the seven runners.

Not the favourite though. That is Quorto trained by Charlie Appleby who is unbeaten in two starts at Newmarket and was impressive when winning the Group 2 Superlative Stakes on his last start in July.

Anthony Van Dyck looks the pick of the O’Brien runners after his narrow course and distance Group 2 win over stable companion Christmas last time out. He’s steadily improving but I’m keeping the faith with the progressive Quorto and Godolphin getting one back on Coolmore.
