CURRAGH ON SUNDAY: SHAMROCK’S Sunday NAP runs in the feature Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh (4.10).

A competitive renewal of the Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh this afternoon.

The key formline surely has to be the Railway Stakes held over course and distance in June when Go Bears Go scored by a comfortable length and a quarter over Castle Star. Dr Zempf (4th), Twilight Jet (5th), The Entertainer (9th) and Strapped (13th) all reappear again today.

It’s an action replay on only slightly easier ground and I see no reason why the form shouldn’t be confirmed.

The fly in the ointment could be Prettiest who can be excused her odds-on defeat in a Group 3 at Leopardstown as she was found later to be in season. Previously fourth in the Albany – she still looks progressive and could grab a slice of this but I’m cheering home the Bears.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Go Bears Go (4.10 Curragh)

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
