LEOPARDSTOWN TRIALS DAY: SHAMROCK heads to Leopardstown on Sunday where Aidan O’Brien bids for an incredible 14th career win in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial Stakes at 3.15pm.

It’s hard to know what to make of Aidan O’Brien’s current form. 7 winners from his last 46 runners is definitely over par by his standards but the real concern might be the absence, yet, of any clear cut future classic contenders.

That may well change of course after today. O’Brien goes in search of his 14th winner in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial Stakes and what a roll call it has been including Galileo, Yeats, Sinndar and High Chaparral amongst his previous winners.

The current BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE is wide open and we get to find out today whether Bolshoi Ballet is the real deal. There was plenty to like about his course and distance win here in April when he comfortably won the Ballysax Stakes and there is no doubt he is crying out for a longer trip. He holds Taipan (3rd) and stable companion Lough Derg (4th) on that form and should prove too strong for Mac Swiney with the evidence, so far, suggesting he’s better with plenty of give.
