DAY TWO OF THE DUBLIN RACING FESTIVAL: SHAMROCK looks ahead to day two of the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown and bids to follow up on yesterday’s successful NAP and LAY.

Good to get the nap (Footpad) and lay (Faugheen) up yesterday.

Another superb card on Sunday at Leopardstown with four Grade 1 races.

For the nap, I’m playing the obvious card with Samcro. Whilst connections are playing down the hype as he still has plenty to prove at the top level, the sub-text is, without question, pointing towards this being an exceptional horse.

He won the Monksfield at Navan last time out by an official 12 lengths but that was unextended and the runner-up Jetz paid that form a compliment yesterday when finishing a head second to shock winner Tower Bridge in the grade 1 opener on the card.

Sharjah will be a good rival. He was still travelling well and looked the likely winner of the Future Champions Novice Hurdle over Christmas before falling at the last but for which he would still be unbeaten.

The race should be a match between the pair.
