SHAMROCK SUNDAY: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the feature at Limerick, the JT McNamara Ladbrokes Munster National Handicap Chase.

A cracking renewal of the JT McNamara Ladbrokes Munster National Handicap Chase at Limerick this afternoon.

Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott have shared the prize over the last two seasons but unusually no runners from Mullins today as Steel Wave has missed out on getting in as first reserve.

Gordon Elliott has five entries, including top weight Alpha Des Obeaux who was a seven length runner-up in this race last year.

He hasn’t been seen since falling heavily at the Chair in the Grand National and it would be a massive achievement if he could defy the absence and win this off top weight.

Further down the handicap, I like the look of Black Scorpion who still looks relatively well handicapped and he won well under today’s conditional rider at Listowel last time out over two and a half miles. He might be seen to even better effect over this trip.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Black Scorpion (4.45 Limerick)
