FLAT IS BACK: The Irish flat racing season gets underway at Naas this afternoon. SHAMROCK’s Sunday NAP runs in the Listed Devoy Stakes at 4.45.

The flat is back and the most interesting bet for me on Sunday’s card at Naas is Hazel Bay in the Listed Devoy Stakes at 4.45pm.

The Dermot Weld trained runner has the benefit of a run at Dundalk and although she was a beaten odds-on favourite, she was only pipped a short head and that should have put her right for this.

Stellar Mass merits respect from a stable that traditionally start the season well but my biggest danger is the Jessie Harrington trained Still Standing.

I haven’t mentioned Amedeo Modigliani as I simply don’t know !! He hasn’t been seen since romping home at Galway in 2017 and still could be anything but the fact that Aidan usually takes a couple of weeks to hit top form, coupled with the lengthy absence tempers me taking short odds.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Hazel Bay (4.45 Naas)
