NAAS SUNDAY NAP: SHAMROCK’s Sunday NAP runs in the closing bumper on the Naas card.

Yesterday’s NAP Alpha Des Obeaux was readily outpointed by Acapella Bourgeois which will teach me to oppose Willie Mullins in the Bobbyjo Stakes at Fairyhouse.

Mixed news on the weather front. Today’s card at Naas which features two Graded races goes ahead after a morning inspection but tomorrow’s card at Fairyhouse was called off yesterday.

Ornua is a non runner in the opening Grade 3 chase at Naas but it looks very hard to me with a question mark over Articulum’s jumping and last year’s winner Cadmium not arriving in the best of form. Coupling the remaining three might be the answer.

In the other Graded race of the day, Andy Dufresne makes little appeal at around evens. He won a Grade 2 over this trip last time but carries a penalty for that success which tempers enthusiasm.

The bumper could be the most interesting race of the day. The race usually throws up a well above average winner and in this year’s renewal four of the five runners are unbeaten.

Farouk D’alene looks solid having won his bumper at Down Royal by 17 lengths and loving the ground.

It’s by no means a confident nap as the three other previous winners can be given a big chance given all are entitled to improve on their second starts.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Farouk D’alene (5.10 Naas)

2020 NAPS: 16/32 +59.75 (to a 10 unit daily level stake)
