A very uncompetitive Vintage Crop Stakes at Navan this afternoon in which Order Of St George makes his seasonal reappearance against just two rivals – the best of which is rated 17 inferior on official ratings.
Some of Aidan’s runners have been needing their first starts and Order Of St George is probably best watched today – especially allowing for the fact that he was beaten at odds-on in this same race 12 months ago.
Best bet for me on the card is the Joseph O’Brien trained Speak In Colours in the earlier Committed Stakes at 2.40pm a Listed contest over the best part of six furlongs.
The grey won two of his three starts last season when trained by Marco Botti – finishing off with a Listed race at Doncaster and he remains an exciting prospect.
