THURLES ON THURSDAY: After his run of nine winning naps in a row came to an end on Sunday, SHAMROCK attempts to get back amongst the winners at Thurles this afternoon.
Several short-priced Willie Mullins options on the Thurles card this afternoon and I’m hoping patience will be rewarded by waiting for the closing bumper at 3.50pm with Rio Vivas.
The gelding has joined the Mullins yard after two good placed runs in bumpers for Willie Codd and looks a likely sort for this race with Patrick onboard.
The Gordon Elliott trained Gun Digger has the benefit of a run under Rules but his Galway fourth on debut looks pretty modest from – even more so when the second from that race was beaten 55 lengths next time out !!
A bigger danger may come from the Noel Meade trained Mad Carew who was a fair second at Wexford last time out.
NAP: Rio Vivas (3.50 Thurles)
