Monbeg Notorious justified favouritism in easy style last year but it came on heavy ground and he is now 15lb up in the weights. That surely makes it a massive ask for a back to back win?
Away from the Mullins / Elliott monopoly, if there is a best of the rest it might well be Mall Dini who was only just touched off in the Kim Muir and came out this season to finish third at Punchestown when a bad mistake at the third certainly didn’t help.
Patrick Mullins rode him in the Kim Muir and is back onboard today and the partnership can hopefully run another big race.
