UN DE SCEAUX on SATURDAY? Last season’s Arkle winner Un De Sceaux is amongst seven horses remaining in the Grade 1 Sodexo Clarence House Chase at Ascot on Saturday.

Un De Sceaux will hopefully be seen next this Saturday in the Sodexo Clarence House Chase at Ascot.

The Willie Mullins trained runner will be out to make amends for his Leopardstown fall over Christmas when he came to grief at the second last when still travelling as well as his 1/4 price tag indicated he should be.

He heads the BETDAQ ante-post market for the Champion Chase at the Festival at around 2.68 and will likely go off odds-on for the race on Saturday but probably just a shade of odds-on if the race holds up – it really does look a mouth-watering affair.

Sire De Grugy, who won this in 2014, is officially rated 1lb better than Un De Sceaux and Gary Moore’s star chaser is running well again – winning the Tingle Creek at Sandown before running Sprinter Sacre a close second in the Desert Orchid Chase at Kempton. Sprinter Sacre was the only withdrawal from Saturday’s race at the five-day stage.

Willie Mullins has also left Felix Yonger in the race. The ten-year-old won the Hilly Way Chase at Navan last time out.
