BALLINROBE NAP: SHAMROCK heads to Ballinrobe today for his nap running in the opening maiden hurdle at 4.55pm.

A seven race card at Ballinrobe today on expected soft ground.

The opening race at 4.55, a maiden hurdle, should go to the Joseph O’Brien trained Valgor Du Ronceray.

He was a winner on the flat when trained by Tony Martin but has so far struggled over hurdles, although it must be said that this is easiest task for some time.

Encouragingly he has run some of his better races with give in the ground (his flat win was on heavy).

He’s back after an unsuccessful spell chasing where his jumping let him down but hopefully he will be more fluent over the smaller obstacles.

Now Let Go looked very useful indeed when winning a Punchestown bumper but that came 851 days ago and it’s impossible to predict what shape he is in for his long awaited comeback.

The JP McManus owned Wait Here wasn’t beaten too far on debut at Limerick in March when the ground was also soft and could be the biggest threat.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Valgor Du Ronceray (4.55 Ballinrobe)
