MULLINS TO WIN LATEST SKIRMISH WITH ELLIOTT: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the concluding Beginners Chase on today’s card at Clonmel.
Augustin (Willie Mullins) is preferred to Fire In His Eyes (Gordon Elliott) in what looks a match to the concluding Beginners Chase on today’s card at Clonmel (5pm).
Augustin is a winner of a bumper and over hurdles and made a pleasing enough start to his chasing career when finishing second to Monbeg Notorious at Punchestown. The winner won a Grade 2 over the weekend at Navan (DAQMAN’s ‘Supernap’ and the form looks well above average.
Fire In His Eyes has more chasing experience and went closest yet to a first win at Thurles last time out when finishing a length and a half second to Kopookris. The winner however was beaten into third on his subsequent start letting down the form a little.
