MINDING DECISION IMMINENT: A decision on whether Minding runs in the Investec Oaks a week on Friday is likely to be made early next week.
Minding still heads the BETDAQ market for the Investec Oaks at Epsom a week on Friday despite being beaten a head by Jet Setting in the Irish 1000 Guineas on Sunday when she hit her head leaving the stalls.
Trainer Aidan O’Brien told the Racing Post: “Minding had a swelling on her face this morning but was otherwise fine. John Halley, our vet, had a look at her and he was quite happy with her.
“She’ll be having an easy week and we’ll make a decision about the Oaks when we see how she is towards end of the week or early next week.”
He added: “The Oaks has always been the plan for her but we’ll just have to wait and see now.”
In her absence the market could well be blown wide open with any one of Ballydoyle, Even Song or Turret Rocks going off favourite.
Irish racing resumes at Gowran Park on Wednesday.
