Trainer Henry de Bromhead feels the JLT Novices’ Chase is the most likely Cheltenham Festival target for Sizing Gold.
He will talk plans through with owners Alan and Ann Potts, and consider a drop back in trip.
He said: “I was hoping he would see out the three miles, but he just didn’t.”
“We have entered him for two novice races at Cheltenham, the two and a half (the JLT, formerly known as the Jewson) and the three-mile (the RSA Chase).
“I don’t know, you’d probably be leaning towards the Jewson at the moment but we will see. I don’t think he will run again between now and then.”
