GOWRAN LISTED ACTION: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the Hurry Harriet Stakes at Gowran Park tonight.

A 14 strong field go to post tonight for the featured Hurry Harriet Stakes at Gowran Park – a Listed race over 1m 1f for fillies and mares.

Dermot Weld and Aidan O’Brien have enjoyed a monopoly in the race over recent seasons and both have strong contenders tonight in what looks a very open renewal.

Curly looks the pick of Aidan O’Brien’s triple entry. She’s lightly raced and the winner of a maiden here at Gowran.

She was by no means disgraced subsequently when last of four in the Group 3 Meld Stakes at Leopardstown where she was doing her best work at the end and may need a longer trip to show her best form. The Meld Stakes was a muddling race and I’m not sure that the form can be taken at face value, particularly with the favourite under performing.

There are a lot of questions to be answered too though with Liquid Amber who looks the value in the race. She has a high draw (favoured in recent years) and has the visor on for the first time.

She’s a class drooper having finished ninth to Billesdon Brook in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket. She was an impressive Group 3 winner as a two-year-old, beating the 2/7 shot Ballet Shoes by five lengths, and if anything near that level of form should take a lot of beating in this lower grade.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Liquid Amber (6.10 Gowran Park)
