INDIA v WEST INDIES: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews the 2nd T20 between India v West Indies with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

India and West Indies return to Kolkata on Friday afternoon as India look to wrap up the T20 series. Although West Indies batted much better in the 1st T20 compared to the three ODI’s, we saw the gulf in class between the sides again as India chased down the 157/7 in 18.5 overs. As I said before the 1st T20, although we might see India win the T20 series 3-0 as well as the ODI series, at least West Indies are more competitive in this form of the game which allows for more trading opportunities in-running on BETDAQ Betting Exchange.

Despite the comfortable looking win on the scorecard for India, they were in a little trouble at 114/4. Both Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer finished not out with a strike rate of over 180 to see India home in style. It might have got interesting if they got out, but such is life. Nicholas Pooran played a very good knock for West Indies to score 61 and one wonders what type of score do West Indies need to put India under pressure. India looked very calm under pressure with five overs to go in the chase anyway, and at the moment you’d suggest it will be very difficult to see West Indies posting a win on this tour. Nevertheless, we should see another pretty competitive game here however it’s hard to see anything bar an Indian win in the end.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

There was some turn and bounce in the 1st T20, but with the dew it always tends to be a good batting wicket here. West Indies could only post 157/7 and with the dew falling I feel you’ll need to add 15 runs to that target for par. With a little turn in the wicket though, I would spend a little time on Twitter to see if we are playing on a used pitch or a fresh pitch. With the small boundaries, I don’t think there’s a choice what you do at the toss here – if you win the toss you bowl first given the advantage of added dew in the second innings too. Thankfully we have no weather worries.

RECOMMENDED BET:

You have to respect the fact that West Indies are a much better side in this form of the game compared to ODI cricket, however it’s still hard to see them winning here. I feel India still offer value at 1.33, although they have come in a little after their opening win. West Indies batted reasonably well and with India’s mini collapse they did put them under pressure with five overs to go but they still won easily. It makes you think what do West Indies have to do to win, and India are so strong at home it just looks like they will win from anywhere at the moment.

The Edge Says:
Two points win India to beat West Indies at 1.33 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

As I said above, you’d expect a more competitive game here when compared to the ODI series. West Indies are just much better at T20 cricket. From a trading point of view, I feel batting second offers an edge here given the small boundaries and the evening dew. Despite India being so strong, the best possible way for West Indies to win would be them bowling first as they will have the chance to hit some big boundaries in the chase. That being said – you can see India posting a big score if they bat first too so I wouldn’t be putting a big trade on West Indies just because they bowl first. I’d be keen to ride the momentum if West Indies could set up a platform with the bat but they still had too many dot balls in their innings which doesn’t help. Over all it should be another smooth win for India and the safer trades will be waiting to back India at good points in the game. Even when they look in trouble, if they hit a few fours the market will be very keen to support them again so the market will move quickly.
